Built in 2003 with funds provided by KU Alumni president Woodang Park Jong-Gyu, the six-story high Woodang Hall contains ampitheater-type classrooms and faculty research rooms. Most General Studies lectures are held at the Woodang Hall.

The tiger is the mascot and symbolic animal of Korea University, and of Korea as a whole. The tiger represents strength, courage and bravery. The statue of the tiger sitting atop the globe reflects not only an aspiration to succeed, but also a recognition that the University's mission is a global one.
