KU ice rink becomes a training base for international athletes of the PyeongChang Winter Olympic national teams

Korea University will provide the KU ice rink to international athletes in order to allow them to train for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games.
On November 3 and 4, the UK’s national short track team trained at the KU ice rink. Elise Christie, the 1,500m gold medalist at the 2013 ISU Short Track World Cup, also took part in the event. By training at the KU ice rink, the UK athletes were able to quickly adapt their physical conditions to the Korean environment.





Besides the UK national team, athletes from other countries will also be using the KU ice rink as their training base.
From January 27 to February 5, 2018, the Italian national figure skaters and short track athletes will be training for the Olympic Games at the KU ice rink.
In addition, the Czech national ice hockey team will conduct their final preparations before the Olympics at the KU ice rink from February 8 to 11.
